Backend Software Engineer @ Papernest

Backend engineer on the squad building papernest's in-house CRM, the Salesforce replacement used by 500+ sales ops across Europe and Africa (2k+ inbound calls per day, 10k+ contracts per month).

  • Proposed and led the replacement of the legacy partner integration platform: pitched it internally, scoped the backlog, worked with the infrastructure team on deployment, then designed and delivered the service.
  • Hexagonal architecture (FastAPI API, async worker) with layer boundaries checked in CI, keeping the domain core free of framework and database code.
  • Queue, operation ledger and outbox in one PostgreSQL database: a result and its notification commit in the same transaction, so no result is lost between worker and consumer, and there is no extra broker to run.
  • Built behind the legacy contract, so existing callers switch over without any change on their side.
  • DDD multi-service architecture progressively replacing the legacy Salesforce setup; 500+ sales ops migrated, 80% adoption two weeks after launch, €200k+ in yearly tooling spend cut.
